The Project: "Really Making a Difference"
The purpose of our “Really Making a Difference” Award program is to encourage collaboration between and among nonprofit and for-profit organizations, governmental agencies, schools, and other community organizations in the La Crosse County area, toward the amelioration of one or more of the issues affecting the Greater La Crosse area, as outlined in the 2015 Community Compass Report developed and published by the Greater La Crosse Area United Way.
Three grants will be awarded at the following levels: $100,000, $50,000 and $25,000. Each will be awarded to the applicant whose proposal most effectively demonstrates how the grant funds will be used to positively affect one or more of the issues raised in the Compass Report.
Priority will be given to projects and proposals which demonstrate collaboration in the development and submission of the application, and which encourage collaboration between business, community and governmental organizations, entities and agencies, in attaining the goals set forth in the application.
Among the various criteria under the RFP will be a requirement that the project or proposal selected for the awards include a means of recognizing the efforts of Robert & Eleanor Franke, individually, collectively, or through the Franke Foundation, to benefit the La Crosse Community.
